I'm having a late morning, and not feeling in the slightest bit guilty about it. Today I have to go off to another area for an information event, but it should only take me half an hour to get there and I don't need to be there until 11am, so in theory I could have gone into the office for an hour first. Instead, I set my alarm for an hour later, have done half an hour of Tai Chi and am making myself a decent lunch to take with me. I feel a lot better for just that additional hour, and I didn't wake up until just before my alarm went off, so it seems this is what I needed.
Rather frustratingly, actually doing exercise and cutting down on snacks as well as generally keeping an eye on what I'm eating doesn't seem to have made much of a difference. I've been exercising twice daily (ten minutes in the morning, half an hour in the evening) most days since the beginning of November, and the end result is a loss of only 2.6lbs in weight. Good thing I find I'm actually enjoying working out, otherwise I would be tempted to chuck in all in as a waste of time. I should look on the bright side that at least the weight is going in the right direction, but it would have been nice to have seen more of a result on the scales. No miraculous appearance of six-pack abs either.
There is snow. Not vast quantities, but just enough to be annoying. If it affects my plans for the weekend I will be severely pissed off - not only because I would end up missing the one thing I have been looking forward to all year, but also because I've already paid a lot of money for it. There can be blizzards Thursday night for all I care, just as long as I can get to where I need to be!
