Having been intending to do it for months, this afternoon I finally got round to turning a 'London Calling' from The Clash t-shirt into a hoodie. It's not perfect - I had intended lining the whole thing but the t-shirt wasn't as big as I thought it was, and I keep forgetting to check which way round the material needs to be when cutting out the second piece so it has a half black half camouflage hood when it should have been all camouflage lined with black - but I'm quite pleased with the way it has come out. Very comfy too. I'm contemplating adding pockets but am not sure whether to bother. My sewing machine kept deciding to unthread itself and Titan was not being helpful by either sitting on what I was trying to cut out or thinking the whole thing was a toy for him so it was a long afternoon of work. Now I have to decide what I'm going to do with the Ramones t-shirt I bought at the same time as The Clash one.
This burst of creativity was inspired by Grandad's reaction to his birthday present, his war memoir put in a scrapbook with some of his photos and other relevant bits I found online. He loved it. I think he has spent most of the day looking at it. It was about 11ish this morning that I took it over and he sat browsing through most of the hour I was there, then when I went over this evening he still had it open and was reading through it with his magnifying glass. I must say, it does look pretty good all done up together.
Another job application has gone in today and I have another couple to work on too. Today has been miserable weatherwise though, so if it's fine tomorrow I am planning on taking a walk. Need some exercise. The scales this morning indicated I have lost another pound since Sunday though so the diet is definitely going well. At this rate I will make the 10% of body weight lost mark well before the 12 weeks are up. I'm getting near to my usual plateau though so it will probably slow down quite a bit soon.
